Chayim Ashkenazi
Chayim Ashkenazi brings over a decade of rich experience serving Jewish communities, starting with his impactful work in Turkey. For 10 years, he dedicated himself to fostering Jewish education and engagement as a counselor and event planner. His efforts contributed to the successful organization of community-building initiatives such as Shabbatons, educational seminars, and summer camps, creating meaningful experiences for the Jewish community.
After graduating, Chayim came to Israel to study at Yeshivat Ohr Sameach to deepen his Torah studies. In 2014, he made Aliyah and continued his Torah studies at Emek Learning Center and Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies while developing a professional career in vacation rental property management. His combined expertise in logistics, hospitality, and understanding the needs of kosher travelers set the foundation for his next venture.
Recognizing the growing demand for kosher kitchen solutions in vacation rentals, particularly in Jerusalem, Chayim established KasherMyBnB in 2020. The company specializes in kosher vacation rentals in Jerusalem, offering expert kosher kitchen preparation for Airbnb properties and other short-term vacation rentals. In 2023, Chayim expanded his expertise by becoming a mashgiach for factories, working under prestigious kosher certification organizations such as Harav Landa, Harav Machpud, and Badatz Igud Rabbonim of Manchester. This experience further solidified his reputation for reliability, precision, and dedication to kosher standards, extending his impact to commercial kitchens and food production facilities.

Rabbi Avraam Berti Derofe
Rabbi Avraam Berti Derofe was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and has dedicated his life to Torah study and advancing Jewish traditions. At the age of 19, he moved to Israel to study at Yeshivat Etz Hachaim, the flagship Yeshiva of Shalom La'am, founded by Rabbi Yaakov Hillel. After five years of rigorous learning, he continued his studies at Beit Midrash Sepharadi, where he earned his Semicha (rabbinical ordination) under Rabbi Shlomo Katzin, the esteemed Rosh Yeshiva of Midrash Sepharadi.
Rabbi Derofe has served Jewish communities with dedication and expertise. In Izmir, Turkey, he held the role of Community Rabbi, providing spiritual leadership and guidance. He also worked as a Mashgiach for renowned international kosher certification organizations, including the Orthodox Union (OU), Badatz Bet Yosef, Chatam Sofer Petach Tikva, and Chatam Sofer Bnei Brak.
Now residing in Israel, Rabbi Derofe brings his extensive experience to Jerusalem, where he has been working as a Mashgiach for the OU for over ten years. His work includes supervising kosher food production and guiding in complex kashering situations, such as ensuring kitchens meet the highest standards of kashrut.
Rabbi Derofe is passionate about helping Orthodox Jewish travelers navigate kashrut challenges in Jerusalem. “Kashrut in Israel can seem very complex and confusing,” he explains. “We aim to make it easier for visitors to understand kashrut guidelines and ensure they have the resources they need to enjoy a worry-free experience.”
